Woda Cooper Companies remains dedicated to providing safe, high-quality affordable housing in the communities we serve. We understand that housing is a basic, essential need, and we are committed to fulfilling this need for the more than 12,000 households in our 300 plus communities, during this crisis and beyond. We are continuing to accept applications and facilitate move-in for new residents who need housing. Our management and operations teams are working hard to ensure our communities are functioning safely and in accordance with guidelines from the CDC, WHO, and local authorities. We’ve implemented many policies as a result of coronavirus crisis. For example:
- We are temporarily closing certain common spaces such as community rooms and fitness centers, while adding new cleaning protocols for laundry rooms, hallways, and other areas that are essential to our residents’ daily lives;
- Residents have been instructed to practice social distancing and adhere to safety/hygiene guidelines established by authorities. We are also asking them to rely more on technology to connect, contacting community managers by phone or email if possible;
- We’ve eliminated routine inspections and deferred routine maintenance, and instead are focusing on hygiene and emergency work orders;
- We have suspended evictions and waived late fees to help our residents whose jobs are directly impacted by the crisis.
Residents were sent letters with a detailed list of our coronavirus crisis policies. The policies will be evaluated frequently with the latest information to protect the well-being of our residents and employees.
We will work through this crisis together. Be safe.
