Former Housing Finance Division Director for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA), Tommy Lowmon, has joined Woda Cooper Companies, Inc. as Senior Vice President. Mr. Lowmon will help lead the company’s affordable housing development efforts in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Mr. Lowmon has deep experience in community development as the lead economic development officer in various communities, including his hometown of Blackshear, GA. In Blackshear, Mr. Lowmon helped the southeast Georgia community earn widespread recognition for its success in improving the community’s downtown business, cultural, and service opportunities. He has a keen understanding of the importance of expanding housing options for mixed income levels as a part of successful economic development in various sized communities.
Most recently, Mr. Lowmon was Director of Housing Policy for the state housing tax credit syndicator Sugar Creek Capital after 8 ½ years with DCA. He was named Division Director in 2022, and previously was the agency’s Director of The Office of Community Development and Office of Disaster Recovery.
